Ischemic Small Bowel

Small Bowel Infarction Dual Energy CT
Contrast enhanced CT A/P in the projections showing the utility of Dual Energy CT in diagnosing Bowel ischemia through a comparison of two images. Image a (left) is a CT without Dual Energy. Image b (right) is with Dual Energy with 40keV beam, showing evidence of bowel ischemia (red arrow) in the posterior wall of the small bowel as evidenced by hypoenhancement indicative of reduced blood flow in the setting of small bowel ischemia.
Surgery revealed extensive small bowel ischemia
